Eeeeee I'm very happy to post this!
I'm super happy with the result of this video, honestly ^^

I began making this on November 8th, I believe.
I had heard this song in a MEP and it reeeeally quickly became my favorite song, and nearly just as quickly, I got an edit idea for it. The kind of vibe that the song gives off for me is a mix of a creepy vibe and a sexy vibe. So that's exactly what I wanted to aim for here - so it can be seen as a combination of the two. One clip could be more sexy, while the next could have a bit more of a haunting vibe to it, and so on. (Granted, the sexy vibe kinda fell apart at one point but asdfjkds oh well XD)
Inspiration hit me like a truck for this one, and I nearly felt like I had lost my mind when I made the audio this long, bc generally, I simply don't have the inspiration to edit this long of an edit. I'm really glad that I proved my doubts wrong, as I had, I believe, filled nearly all of the empty spaces on my timeline with clips, on the first night of making this.
I wanted to focus on Cloud and Tifa because I like both of their characters, and for the ideas that I had, I figured that they could fit best.
From there, this project was a mix of following my initial ideas plus some experimentation. At times, the editing process was speedy, and at others, I simply didn't have time to edit due to school, or I didn't have inspiration for this specific project.
The order in which I edited this was a little all over the place, but I think this is a good thing, as it helped me maintain the effort I put into clips, and helped it stay looking consistent. It ended up being a loop of me going to the chorus, the beginning, and the middle, in a mixer order.
One part that I'm especially happy with is the first ''running free''. The animation with the hands was literally done accidentally and spontaneously. I was looking for pictures to draw, but instead ended up finding this gif, and I was hit with the idea that I could add it into this edit.
Some other things I wanted to do, which I don't usually do, is maaaask (yeeees XD), use a new kind of font that I've never used before (which is the gothic one), and add things to help create more of the vibe that I wanted. I wanted to not be afraid to literally try to make some parts look creepy.
For instance, the smile at 0:31 was something I made in PS and then ''animated'' in Vegas for that purpose. It was quite hard to get it to look the way I wanted it to, and it partly didn't turn out the way I envisioned it, but, oh well I guess. I wanted the smile to stretch out a little bit more.
I added some small details too!
for example, at around 0:05 I actually added text that says ''blows'' but I clipped it into the shockwave overlay, bc I wanted the text to disperse. And a gimmick I wanted to use was that when the lyrics say ''darker'' - the brightness of the clip actually decreases along with it. There might've been something else I wanted to mention, but currently, I can't remember.
I had to render this twice bc during the first render time, I realized that I had accidentally used one clip twice, so I had to replace the one I needed the least. The clip I repeated was the one at around 0:28 (the one of Cloud looking up) and I used it again at 0:07 as an overlay over the clip. However, when I noticed this, I replaced it with the clip that you see there. Bit of a shame bc the other clip might've looked a little better, but, eh, better that than having to see the same clip twice.
This took 19 minutes and 39 seconds to render, which, I would say, is a really good time ^^
And um, I suppose that's all!
I'm feeling tired now as well, so I should really be heading off to bed.
