Firstly, I want to thank both @Eridani and @ZeroSR for the opportunity to verify this banger. I absolutely adore this level, and watching it progress to where it is now was a special privilege I'll never forget :)
MANIAC! My first TRUE Extreme Demon Verification! (aka not an update verification). Eridani approached me back in August about this level, asking if I wanted to take up the verification after he took over the project from ZeroSR. After seeing the layout, of course I said yes, how could I pass up an opportunity like this?
And now, 7 months later, it's finally out!
This level was a blast from start to finish. Maniac's base gameplay is incredibly unique, and I mean that in the best way possible. From the dual ships in the predrop, to the corridor part in the 50s, to the spectacles that are the dual waves in the drop, this level is anything but boring, and thankfully, all my compliments about its uniqueness carry over to enjoyability as well, because damn this level is fun. Despite my poor luck that I had during my time playing it, I never once found this level unfun. There isn't a single part of it that I dislike even, every single part of the level I enjoy which is pretty rare to see from me.
I'm going to dive more into my opinion on Maniac when I release a follow-up video to this one, which will serve as my review for this level as well as an in-depth look at the verification process, but until then, just know that I think that this level is awesome :)
I want to personally shoutout each of the playtesters for this level. I can't really put into words how much work each of us put into this level to ensure its playability, but I'm incredibly proud of how this level turned out, and these people were an integral part of bringing Maniac to where it is now:
