The journey begins with a solid monolithic foundation made from aircrete, a lightweight mixture of cement, water, foam, and cellulose that provides excellent insulation without sacrificing strength. Once the foundation is complete, the team inflates a giant airform that serves as the mold for the dome's distinctive curved shape. Using a custom-built sprayer powered by a high-pressure air compressor, they apply layers of cement over the inflated form, gradually creating a seamless concrete shell. To ensure proper curing, heaters are placed inside the dome while every doorway and window opening is carefully shaped with remarkable precision.
