Tormach Inc. | Making Crazy Cyr Wheels with CyrCraft Customs @tormachinc | Uploaded September 2018 | Updated October 2024, 4 hours ago.
Cyr wheels are picking up heat and popularity by thousands of people. Jesse Hughson has found himself a niche within a niche of super custom wheels that really stand out.
For those not familiar with what a cyr wheel is, it’s an acrobatic ring where the artist will spin inside of the wheel while it rotates and flips in all different directions. The ring is one large piece typically made of aluminum or steel. Something as simple as a shift in weight can change the path of the wheel making it very challenging for lots of people. From lights and fire to engraving and custom materials, CyrCraft Customs can make it all. The smaller the wheel, the faster it spins. There’s lots of talent involved, but awesome tricks and stunts can be done with a little practice.
The demand seems to be growing and that’s where Jesse took an initiative to move towards automation. The cnc mill has come in good use for making the custom small run production parts and speed up production compared to his manual mill. The time it takes has drastically reduced to make these components.
