I try to not over feed bees but at the same time those first few warm days of the year is when they usually need help the most, especially if you are stuck in a cycle of a week or two of warm weather then a cold spell hits. As soon as the days start getting longer and warmer, the queen starts rearing brood and food can become critically low during warm periods followed by cold cycles. I keep an eye on hive weight and feed bee fondant on low hives. This is how I make it and this video was requested by a local beekeeper (I thought I already had a bee fondant video but maybe not)

But I mostly use the ninja creami now and only make high protein high fat ice creams that are healthier than store bought (because I have to eat so many calories just to maintain my current weight and eating solid foods is almost impossible to eat 4500 - 6000 calories a day - and btw, I only weight 130 lbs post-cancer pre-cancer I weighed around 165-170 and was pure muscle). I dont know why I cant gain weight (although I can lose weight easily) and the drs dont know either - its like my body is stuck in uber high burn calorie mode even if I am sedentary. If you have any ideas how to break this cycle, nothing I have done has worked for 5 years so Id love to hear your ideas .... let me know in the comments. So the ninja creami just seems faster for me, it takes less time to dump and mix and pour into containers than the churn style ice cream maker. Also, with the churn style maker I can only create 1 gallon at a time and well ... I could eat that in a day easily so that means I would have to make ice cream every day using churn style ... again, the ninja creami is just faster, more convenient, and saves me time (and money) You can make ice cream for the fraction of the cost of store bought so the machine you go with will pay for itself very quickly. I figured up cost in many of the recipes I use but Id estimate this very basic recipe below without any of the options is less than $1 a pint. So I have fallen in love with the ninja creami - I make ice cream in bulk, 8 pints at a time and that only lasts me 2-4 days - I can eat 2-4 pints a day easily (at around 800 calories a pint, depending on the recipe and flavor).
