The craziest Ohio 1980's era white-tailed deer hunting story you have ever heard
In the 1980's, Ohio deer hunting was way different than it is today (I assume, I don't live or hunt in Ohio anymore), always more snow, always more cold, there were no special clothing, only allowed to hunt with shotguns, no scent blockers, no baiting, a 1 buck per family member limit, and no shooting does.
This mount has been missing for over 30 years. How it came up missing is not important. Recently I announced I had cancer again and a few days later a friend texted me and told me "i found a deer mount in a storage building, I think it belonged to your dad. Do you want it?" I knew exactly what they were talking about as soon as I read it. Of course I wanted it. So I arranged a time to go pick it up. You see, me and my dad both told this story "mostly the exact same way". He told the story from his perspective. I told the story from my perspective. My dad passed away in 2008. Neither one of us admitted we were the one that gut shot that deer. He says I did it. I say he did it. But it honestly doesn't really matter who gut shot it. Its a memory I can remember with my dad, sharing a moment hunting together. And now that this mount is finally home after being missing for over 30 years, I have the proof from the story so many people look at me like "thats a pretty crazy story there bruh" and I kinda always felt like they never believed me .... so here is the proof once and for all and its also why I don't hunt BIG bucks ... you can't eat antlers, deer is only food to me, not bragging rights lol. For the past 15-20 years, I have only bow-hunted does.
