This video is an introduction to a lab which investigates how the magnetic field strength around a current carrying wire is related to the radial distance from that wire and the size of the current in the wire. A compass is used to determine the direction of the net magnetic field at different distances from the wire for different amounts of current, and this video shows how to calculate the magnetic field strength using the compass.
