A comparison in speed between an external NVMe drive plugged directly into a MacBook Pro and plugged in via a USB port on a Thunderbolt 3 dock. Does going through a dock impact your speed dramatically?

I'm transferring large video files here (45GB and 60GB) so this is not a test of many small files. This is all about shifting data.
