If you're wanting to do simple on-location filming for YouTube etc, which setup gives the best results vs. effort required. Expensive cameras and heavy gear are technically superior but will you ever get the shots you want with such a cumbersome setup?
Today I'm testing out an iPhone, a DJI Action 4 and a Sony A7RV to see how much real world visual difference there is between the three when you then also consider how much easier it is to just film with a phone rather than carrying round a camera cage, lenses, batteries etc.
We're in Westonbirt Arboretum in Tetbury which is quite possibly one of my favourite places to visit. It's so relaxing and I recommend it purely to relieve stress and or anxiety.
Let me know in the comments what you think of each and which footage comes across best.
NOTE: I'm looking at this for casual YouTube location work. I understand that, when you have a team or a client demanding e.g. broadcast quality, only certain gear will do.
This came about because I always procrastinate over which gear to use so I wanted to prove to myself that simple will do the job. In this case, I think I've succeeded.
