Since getting my hands on the S1II, I've had 4 or 5 very different client shoots. It's actually worked out well timing wise, because I've recently had quite a mix of projects in the works all at the same time. I thought I would share some of the recent footage, as it's a good way to demonstrate the versatility of this camera, and how well it performs in a mix of shooting environments.
We've had everything from stage scenes for a talent agency with (very!) challenging lighting conditions, to location shoots out in nature, product shoots in the studio, and some live event/documentary work also. All in all, these jobs have been an incredible test of the camera and it has performed flawlessly. Literally.
I've also been making an effort to make use of the new Panasonic 24-60mm f/2.8, so all of this footage has been shot on that lens. Whilst I tend to be more of a manual cine lens kinda guy, there's no doubt it's a great bit of glass for more run and gun style shooting needs. Whatever the job, it gets it done. I'm looking forward to now pairing up the camera with some of my more quirky lenses to see what can be achieved look wise.
I've got more content on this camera planned, as I think it's probably the best camera LUMIX have ever made, so I'd like to share my thoughts. As those that have followed me for a while will know, I don't really do tech reviews. There are lots of YouTubers doing that better than I could. However, I'd like to share my hands on perspective on the gear, as a full time filmmaker and DoP out and about using it on real productions and client work.
