Dehancer Pro is a cinematic film emulation plugin and color grading tool now available for Final Cut Pro X. Here’s my little review of the product, giving a general overview of it as well as my thoughts. I can highly recommend this one!
As a filmmaker I’ve always been a lover of the analog film look. There’s something magical about it that’s hard to put your finger on, something that can sometimes be slightly lacking in the digital equivalent.
This is how to get the film look!
In my experience, Dehancer Pro is easily the most powerful film emulation and filmic colour grading tool that I’ve ever personally used. One plugin that gives you all the tools you could want or need to emulate a genuinely convincing and authentic ‘film look’ in your films and videos.
The plugin includes features such as over 60 different film negatives, print emulation including the popular Kodak 2383, film compression, analog CMY color correction, grain, halation, bloom, vignette, gate weave, film breath, LUT export and more. When you pump your footage through this pipeline, it genuinely looks incredible. Without a doubt, this is the closest to the look of true analog film that I have ever been able to get with my own images.
It’s genuinely fantastic that these powerful tools are now available from within Final Cut Pro.
So if like me, you use Final Cut and like to emulate analog film characteristics in your digital video footage, you will definitely want to check this one out.
