Luminous Avenger iX 2 | Finale: Guest Fights & Boss Rush
And now it comes to this. The last video. If you're wondering about Hard Mode, I'm putting it on the backburner for a bit.
Anyway, Luminous Avenger iX 2 had DLC, in the form of guest characters that Copen can take on in battle. All of these characters come from different games and beating them will unlock new abilities for Copen to use in Normal Mode. Sadly they can't be used on Hard Mode.
Up first is Kohaku Otori (VA: Asuka Kakumoto) from COGEN: Sword of Rewind by Gemdrops. She's an annoying sort because to defeat her, you got to make sure she doesn't have her sword Exebreaker. Should you take her out, her SP Skill activats, Ouroboros System. This will rewind time to the start of Phase 3. Not to mention any and all Kudos you accumulate as well as any damage you took is reset. To counter it, you need to Recoil Dash when she does her Counter stance. Once you do that, take her out. Beating her will net Ouroboros System iX. This makes his Cryo-Flash no longer consume energy, as well as the fact that it can't inflict damage.
Next is Yang Yumo (VA: Hsuan-Ming Mu) from Dusk Diver, developed by JFI Games. She specializes on using lightning attacks and summoning chaos beasts. She can be quite a challenge. Her SP Skill, Electrical Flash, turns her invincible as she summons a lightning orb. It'll pull Copen in, while gathering smaller orbs that make it expand. After 10 seconds, the orb will explode, nearly covering the whole screen. She can be a challenge but fun. Beating her gets the D Burst ability, allowing successive Bullit Dashing.
Third is Jason Frudnick (VA: Aver Hamilton) from Blaster Master Zero 3. He's a challenging sort, forcing you to go on the offensive. Watch out because this guy can hit hard. His SP skill, Elemental Blaster is deadly. With the use of Fred, he'll jump into a wormhole with SOPHIA-J1. After 5 seconds, he'll drop it on Copen. Then he'll jump out, charge his gun and fire a large laser. But it gets worse. Once his HP is depleted, Eve (VA: Phoebe Chan) will come in and unleash Unchained D.D.F. This provides him a shield and he can't be tagged. You need to deal a lot of damage to him otherwise his last bar will be restored. Beating him nets the Parallel Blaster Rifle, increasing the power of the Razor Wheel's melee attack.
Fourth is Kurona (VA: Michelle Marie) from Gal*Gun Double Peace. Fun fact: She also appears in Mighty Gunvolt Burst. She is the definition of annoying, especially with her attacks. You need to be on the move or you'll get wrecked. Her SP skill, Kurona's Hell-acious Special Attack is nasty. Very nasty because if you don't time your moves, you will lose a lot of health. I learned that the hard way. Beating her gives you Dark Power, changing Lola's appearance to Darkness Mode during Overdrive.
Last but not least is Kirin (VA: Kelly Baskin) from Azure Striker Gunvolt 3. She can strike hard and if you get tagged, she'll follow up with Arc Chain. She can even use Starlight Prayer to really screw you up. Her SP skill, 88th Rite Pale Mist (Type Eight-Ten-Eight: Hazy Gathering Clouds) has her dashing quickly, leaving non-damaging lines. She then sheathes her sword to turn the lines into slashes and she does this four times. Beating her nets Sealing Talisman, basically you can't kill any enemy that's tagged.
With all that done, the Boss Rush remains. Not much to say on that but I do get the X rank. Thus, I'm done with Luminous Avenger iX 2. I had fun but Hard Mode will drive me up a wall. Thanks for watching regardless.
