In this follow-up to my original Lumen Metabolism Tracker review, I share my experience with the Lumen after using it for over 8 weeks. In my original Lumen review, I hadn't been using it for very long, and I was not following the macronutrient recommendations at all. I also hadn't gotten a Flex score yet and still had a lot to learn about the Lumen. This review gives a more well-rounded perspective of the Lumen after gaining a lot more experience with it. You can still see my original Lumen review at the link below if you like.

I think it's interesting to note that after more than 8 weeks of using the Lumen, my metabolic flexibility is down according to the application's readings from my Lumen. This is a little bit surprising to me, but I can see why that would be based upon the way I used the Lumen. The main reasons I think my metabolic flexibility went down are because I didn't start following the app's recommendations until a little over 4 weeks ago, and I switched my diet up quite a bit before that.

As you'll learn in the video, I was doing a lot of experiments with different ways of eating while tracking with the Lumen, but I knew I needed to change it up and follow Lumen's recommendations so I could give an accurate review of the Lumen and whether or not it was helpful.

On a good note, I'm down about 12 pounds since I started using the Lumen about 2 months ago.

Another thing that I found interesting about using the Lumen is regarding how the app will make changes to your macronutrients based upon your workouts and specifically the type of workouts. For example, I learned that if I wanted to have more carbohydrates, all I had to do was do some sort of high-intensity workout. After logging a high-intensity workout into Lumen, the app gives you a carbohydrate boost to help with recovery. That being said, you can see that the more information you give the application, the more tailored to you the recommendations are.

To sum things up, I think Lumen helps you to become more aware of what you're putting into your body and whether or not you're eating too much. It also helps you to get good at tracking things like exercise and food intake, because you have to get good at it in order for the Lumen to give you the best personalized recommendations.

The above being stated, tracking everything and blowing into your Lumen a lot can get tedious, and following their recommendations can get stressful sometimes when you want to eat more carbohydrates, for example.

I've also found over time that I like to be able to change things up when I feel my body is calling for a change, as opposed to when an application is telling me to change things up. That being said, I have a very in-depth understanding of my body based upon years of diet experimentation, which I think makes following my gut easy for me compared to someone that hasn't experimented a lot with themselves.

All things considered, for someone that's motivated to make changes and wants to be told exactly what to do to get results, the Lumen could be a very helpful tool. As long as you keep following the recommendations, I think the Lumen can help you to lose weight and be honest with yourself about what you are doing to be more healthy.

I hope this follow-up review of the Lumen helps you get a good understanding as to whether or not the Lumen could be a good tool for you.
