Today's looping session was short and sweet, but I found myself back at the Microcosm's Warp Mode D and I immediately wanted to wrap an ambient exploration around the beauty and complexity of that mode.
For those who aren't familiar, the Warp Mode D is a delay that will, when left to its own devices, shift upward into an octave up sound that keeps things dynamic and full of movement.
Starting off with the Jennings Navigator, what has quickly become my favorite guitar for ambient and subtle guitar sounds, then moves quickly to the usual suspects, with tone shaping provided by the Jackson Audio Bloom v2 for compression and the Greer Lightspeed for subtle grit and lift.
From there I employ the help of the Chase Bliss Mood Mk II & Generation Loss Mk II to add a bit of lofi grit, warmth and additional ambience, and the whole arrangement is finally processed by the Strymon Bigsky before ultimately finding it's way to the UA Dream + Ruby which are helped by the Pinstripe Pedals DISO+
While it's short and sweet, this is one of my favorite sounding live looping sessions. Something about the way the pitch shift slices float around in stereo is so special to me. One of my favorite setups for sure.
