I was so excited about the Chase Bliss Mood Mk II announcement that I had to bring back the "stereo" Chase Bliss Mood setup for another looping exploration.
In this recording I use the pair of Moods wired in dual mono for a few different hard panned ideas. Tape mode with the tape direction reversed per side, Slip mode set to an octave up with the directions reversed and time slightly different side to side, and even a quick moment of "stereo" reverb with different levels of diffusion.
There's a lot in this setup that's new to me in the way of configuration. First off, this is my first official flight with the Aeros Loop Studio from Singular Sound. This looper is an incredible addition to the looping configuration and something that's an exciting tool that's really expanded my approach and toolset. Running after the board, but before the 'amps' the Aeros allows me to capture loops after the delay and reverb, baking in those settings and allowing me to switch over to other sounds. The ability to record, reverse and mix each layer separately is something that is a new technique to me, but something I'm very excited to build into the looping approach moving forward.
For the base tones you're hearing here I'm using the Walrus Audio Deep Six, Lauren Audio Mustang and Benson Preamp as the trio of tone shaping to bring big clean sounds to the rest of the effects chain.
I've been really enjoying the Neunaber Audio Inspire and Generation Loss Mk II as my modulation setup of choice and they both shine with this clean tone configuration in my opinion.
Overall, I have to say, I'm quite excited for the Mood Mk II to land, but ever so slightly sad opposite direction configurations for micro loops etc aren't possible. I'll still have a good reason to keep 2 moods around for special occasions :)
