A2 Class 60532 'Blue Peter' is seen on loaded test runs either side of the Easter period in March and April. The locomotive is seen hauling the Ex Caledonian sleeper coaches which are stored on the Severn Valley Railway and predominately used for testing air braked locos which Blue Peter is fitted with. In the video you will hear A2 class with the two whistles/chimes. The loud chime whistle is of South African origin and the other is the standard LNER shrill whistle. Once the running in period is completed the loco will head home to Crewe via a possible mainline test run ? where its hoped the loco will run up to 75mph without issue. Blue Peter is due to start hauling excursions for Saphos Trains this summer.
Its great to finally see this sole surviving locomotive back in steam after a lengthy time on the sidelines. I hope you enjoy the video.
