In this video, we take a look back at some of our favourite scenes of the only double chimney Jubilee 45596 Bahamas. The Jube has now been withdrawn from service and will be overhauled. The loco shouldn't be on the sidelines for too long, and it's expected to return with fitted air brakes which will give it more work on the mainline.
The compilation covers nearly a seven year period. The loco is seen across the U.K mostly on the mainline and quite a lot of scenes don't feature a diesel. Later on towards the end of its ticket the Jubilee visited several preserved railways as its mainline work dried up due to lack of air braking. Despite the lack of the mainline work in the latter part of it's ticket, the Jubilee gained a late lease of life as it was able to visit other parts of country.
For us this locomotive is one of the star performers on the preservation scene and rarely has it failed while in operation and you'll never find a single leak of steam anywhere. In our opinion 'Bahamas' is the pride of the Jubilee fleet !
