S.R 34046 Braunton heads over the Welsh Marches line on the Welsh Marches Express to Shrewsbury and it looked like the West Country Class was running on bad coal. The light pacific was looking resplendent as it headed through the lush green countryside of Herefordshire & Shropshire while doing its very best to blot out the landscape with lots of soot. It's generally not a great advertisement for the UK steam scene when locos produce this kind of clag, especially for the majority of it's run and looking at other footage this seemed to be the case. I've sat on this footage for almost a week debating whether to post or not. In hindsight scenes like these are rare but not uncommon and felt it was worth sharing.
