This is the Little Dipper at Six Flags Great America. It is a Junior Coaster that was built by PTC (Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters) and designed by the famous Herbert Paul Schmeck in 1950 and has a serial # 115. This coaster originally was built at Kiddyland in nearby Melrose Pak, Illinois, USA and it operated there until the family decided to close the park on September 27, 2009. The original construction cost about $30,000. Six Flags Great America bought this coaster at the on site auction for $33,000 and moved it here where it opened to the public on May 27, 2010 with the original Kiddyland owners there for the ribbon cutting ceremony. According to RCDB.com, the coaster is 700 feet long, 28 feet high, has one train with a single ratcheting lap bar, and a ide time of about fifty seconds.
