It's time to kill two birds with one stone. The now honourless thief that we testified against at the start of our time in Tarna begged us for help earlier, claiming we're the only person who he can turn to. He didn't quite realise how much trouble he was in at his hearing and the fact that he's lasted this long is frankly a miracle.
To be honourless in Tarna is to not be someone at all. Those with honour shun you, for you are not a person at all to them. The honourless thief has no-one to turn to, no way to work for money and nowhere to spend any money he still has. He's living off the scraps of generosity that he can find and so pleads with us, the one person who will acknoledge him, for aid.
Helping him is critical to completing the game, but it's also the best way to lower your honour by going to meet him and then walking away. Each time you enter and leave the screen costs you honour and while the people of Tarna would not see doing that as dishonourable, common decency would tell you to help him, whether he's a criminal or not. It is this way that we'll be tanking our honour, all to try and ensure that we don't become a paladin.
