There are still two things that we can do that aren't directly related to the main plot of Pillars of Eternity. The first is dealing with the adra dragon that dwells at the bottom of Od Nua, but the other is checking out Crägholdt Bluffs, the residence of an ancient wizard called Conculhaut. Whether this wizard is alive or not is up to debate, but what isn't is that a large mercenary group are laying siege to Crägholdt in the hopes of attaining a powerful magical item.
The mercenary group are likely not going to stop at taking Crägholdt and the closest place to there that they could conquer is Caed Nua, so it's time for us to pay these mercenaries a visit. I'm sure we'll be able to meet up with their leader and have a calm, civil conversation where we'll get solid assurances that Caed Nua is safe.
If you read that last sentence with a deeply sarcastic voice, then you've well and truly figured out how this game likes do things, for the most part at least.
