Each of Concelhaut's apprentices has been given part of the key needed to open the door to their teacher's room. It's hidden away in a note that both encourages them to improve upon their weaknesses while also turning them all against one another. Perhaps Concelhaut hopes that the one apprentice that sruvives will be the strongest of the lot and therefore the most 'worthy' to continue on as his apprentice, but that's just guessing at this point.
One of them has already turned hostile, leaving three more to speak to. I doubt that the one working with the alguls is going to be especially happy to hear that the vithrack wants him dead, but one can hope he won't respond to it with violence aimed at us. As for the lady working on animated weaponry, she seems the most reasonable of the four apprentices to the point that she might be there just to learn.
