Ever since the beginning of this tale, it's felt less like Moomintroll has been on an adventure and more that he's on damage control. Almost every person he's met has either had a crisis we've needed to handle (or several in the case of Fillyjonk) or has taken something we need to solve said problems. Even as we draw closer to realising the Great Winter Bonfire, everything could still fall apart in an instant.
That Moomintroll hasn't lost his temper and abandoned the entire idea of the bonfire is a testament both to how much he cares for his friends and also how much he wants winter to just be over. Which of them is more important to him right now is something I'll let you ponder in your own time.
