Directional reversal in the escapement mechanism is achieved through elastic magnetic interactions between neodymium magnets mounted on rotating spokes and stationary magnets fixed to the frame. These repulsive forces behave like ideal springs, enabling energy transfer via conservative, contactless collisions.

Oscillations are initiated by manually repelling the upper spoke’s magnet with a handheld magnet. Once in motion, the lower spoke delivers a timed mechanical impulse to the escape wheel via a bobbing pin, regulating rotational output with each cycle. The system demonstrates principles of magnetic rebound, energy conservation, and mechanical timing control within a modular LEGO framework.
