The studio handled around 180 VFX shots, focusing mainly on creating realistic war-time environments, destroyed cities, and old-era set extensions.
The goal was simple — keep the effects invisible. Everything had to blend so naturally with the live-action footage that you couldn’t tell what was real and what was CG.
For this, the team rebuilt bombed-out buildings, added smoke, fire, explosions and dust, and even recreated airfields and vintage planes to match the 1940s look.
They used real war references and Lee Miller’s photos to capture that gritty, emotional tone of the film.
Every scene was carefully enhanced — sometimes with just atmosphere or background fixes — to make it feel authentic but never overdone.
In total, Jellyfish Pictures delivered around 180 VFX shots for LEE, proving once again how powerful subtle visual effects can be when used right.
(Note: After this project, Jellyfish Pictures’ VFX division rebranded as JFX (Jellyfish FX), continuing the same legacy under a new name.)
