Jeju Island Korea Travel Guide, Artist Lee Jung-seob is famous for his paintings, remnant Fauvism, including one called "White Cow." During the Korean War, he spent a year as a refugee in Seogwipo with his wife and two sons in a rented little house, where he produced many masterpieces.

Although the stay was only temporary, it was one of the happiest times for Lee and certainly the most productive one. Realizing her importance, Seogwipo City bought the house and turned it into Lee Jung-seob Memorial Room. The street in front of his house, which he lived day and night, was renamed Lee Jung-seob Street. Lee Jung-seob Gallery is just behind a restored home. This gallery has more than 8 works by Lee Jung-seob and 52 works of modern Korean painters donated to Seogwipo City by Lee Ho-Jae (CEO of Gana Art).
