Some plastic accesories can be wrapped in leather as part of a car interior upholstery. I decided to cover one of these items in leather to use it as a decorative pen tray in my shop office.
I would have liked to wrap it one piece, but I had to settle for doing it in two pieces. As this piece has an irregular concave and convex bulky surface I had to stretch the leather pieces beforehand to help getting a desired shape. Otherwise, It would have been necessary to do it in several pieces.
After wrapping process the piece was painted to get a vintage appearance. I also applied a sealer on top to add protection and avoid decoloration.
