For the 27th annual Holly Smith Visiting Professorship Grand Rounds, we welcome Vineet Arora, dean of medical education at the Pritzker School of Medicine and vice dean of education in the Biological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago. Arora will explore the role of physician advocacy across clinical, professional, and personal contexts. Drawing on practical frameworks, she will discuss how physicians can make thoughtful decisions about when and how to advocate for their patients, their profession, and themselves.
Speaker:
Vineet Arora, MD, MAPP, is the Herbert T. Abelson Professor of Medicine, dean of medical education at the Pritzker School of Medicine, and vice dean of education in the Biological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago. She has received numerous honors throughout her career, including election to both the National Academy of Medicine and the American Society for Clinical Investigation. Her research on sleep, fatigue, and patient handoffs in teaching hospitals drove national efforts to improve working conditions for medical trainees.
