In this Medicine Grand Rounds, we’ll take an exciting tour of insights gleaned from the lab and how they can be translated to the bedside in rheumatology. Judith Ashouri will share her lab’s latest studies on the molecular basis of autoimmunity in rheumatoid arthritis. Insights from her studies are deepening our understanding of how and why our immune systems periodically turn on us, both in rheumatic and other disease states. Next, Jimmie Ye will describe his approach to understanding the genetic response to environmental changes, which takes advantage of cutting-edge high-throughput sequencing approaches.
