Hospitalized patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) present unique management challenges, including multidisciplinary care coordination and treatment agent selection. This Grand Rounds will review emerging therapeutic approaches aimed at improving outcomes and coordination across teams, as well as current quality metrics in inpatient IBD care.

Speaker:
Sara Lewin, MD, is an associate professor in the Division of Gastroenterology at UCSF Health with expertise in inflammatory bowel disease, small intestinal disorders, and nutrition-related conditions. Her research focuses on complications of inflammatory bowel disease and on improving care for hospitalized patients with gastrointestinal illnesses.
