Through experiences at diverse training sites in San Francisco and beyond, residents in the UCSF Department of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency program are exposed to the broadest possible range of patients and faculty, leading to an incredibly rich clinical experience.

From the establishment of the Residency Diversity Committee in 1993 and the Health Equity and Advocacy Track in 2005, to being one of the first residency programs to adopt holistic review of applicants starting in 2016, the UCSF Internal Medicine Residency has a long history of leadership in and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. UCSF residents and faculty are focused on providing equitable care for all patients and promoting the growth of a diverse physician workforce.
