The Twin Cities and Western Railroad operates a sizable fleet of four axel power, and has a number of non turbo'd GP38-2s. The locomotives sound great under load, and we'll see a train with four of them SCREAMING in run eight. The other train has five units, and a CAT rebuild mixed in.
In this video, we'll see two trains; the first being a quartet of geeps tackling the stiff grade on BNSF's Midway Sub. This train was so large, they weren't sure if they could make the hill at first. It was also a late running one which ran on a Sunday, something which is quite rare. The power was screaming past in the opening scene. We'll chase it from Saint Paul, to Chanhassen before turning the attention to another Saint Paul Turn with five units. This train had a CAT and GP39-2 mixed up, and lugs a massive freight into the Minnesota Commercials Yard. The video ends as they shove into the yard, and all of the power is lit up in the evening sun.
