You don't need to buy an expensive laser level tool. You can just use a plastic tube and some water like my architect is doing at my house in Mexico. amzn.to/3xgAeLV This is a 50 foot line, and note that you can move both ends if you need to move further than your original point. This hose level is more accurate than laser levels, but note that you should keep the water at the same temperature across the entire tube (don't put one end in the sun and the other in the shade as this could impact accuracy.)
And this alternative doesn't need any batteries and is nearly impossible to break. Plus it's fun and easy. And it's the best DIY laser level - and works better than the cheap laser levels and outdoors in the sun, it works better than the best laser levels.
