Thomas Heaton and I met up in the Lake District to do some research for our landscape photography winter workshop in February 2018. It was mostly rain and flat light but then we had a moment of darkness followed by a surreal glow of warm ambient light. I've never seen anything quite like but apparently it was caused by dust from the Sahara Dessert carried by Hurricane Ophelia and also some dust from forest fires in Portugal. I just managed to capture the tail end of the glow which enhanced the incredible autumn colours in Borrowdale, Lake District. An enjoyable morning of photography!
