My passion lies in local woodland photography but my window of opportunity during autumn is very small, so I was keen to revisit the same spot I filmed recently, but this time I was joined by my friend, Thomas Heaton. It was certainly a challenging day but I never fail to enjoy being amongst the trees for a few hours. Ironically, in a place where it can feel like time is somehow slowed down, a few hours can pass in the blink of an eye. I suspect the colours are looking even better right now but I'm currently busy running autumn workshops in Scotland - perhaps the leaves will be kind enough to wait for my return in November :)
Despite the less than ideal conditions, I'm pretty happy with a couple of the compositions which I'll definitely revisit as the seasons change and learn a little bit more about the characteristics of this woodland and its subjects. Tom's video from the day: youtube.com/watch?v=Zh5gQvN8p9g
