The conditions don't have to be magical to find great scenes to photograph in a temperate rainforest, but I do like to be wet. The rich diversity of bryophytes and epiphytes are there exactly because of the rain, humidity, and clean air. That richness comes to life when everything is dripping wet and glistening in the soft light. My final video from this trip was unexpectedly made during a brief wander after saying goodbye to Ben. I'd only intended to scout, but I grabbed my gear to enjoy a couple of hours of filming and woodland photography. I'm so glad that I did!
