In September last year I was Googling the web in search of somewhere new - somewhere relatively quiet but offering something special, fresh and inspiring for my woodland photography. I started to uncover some information about Atlantic Rainforest in the north west of Scotland and from what I could see, they looked magical as well as sounding exotic.
After a few days of scouting and landscape photography in Torridon, I visited a friend who accompanied Meg and I for our very first visit to this enchanting woodland. I was hooked by the potential of this place and I couldn't wait to return. Unfortunately, the conditions were poor when I returned for an afternoon of photography and filming. New woodland can be challenging at the best of times but it's serious multi-tasking when you're also Meg watching and filming ;-)
However, it was an absolute pleasure to explore and start the journey of getting to know this new rainforest for hopefully many more visits to come.
Although I was happy with some of the compositions, I don't consider any of the photographs to be 'keepers' but instead a documentation and starting point for future photography and video work.
