Visitors to the Lake District, Cumbria, are being warned they could face on-the-spot fines this Bank Holiday weekend as authorities crack down on illegal fly-camping and anti-social behaviour.
The Lake District National Park Authority, police and local councils have stepped up patrols, including monitoring shorelines by boat, after reports of littering, campfires and unauthorised campsites.
Officials say fly-camping is causing environmental damage and increasing wildfire risks during the hot, dry summer.
Anyone breaching Public Space Protection Orders can be fined £100.
