These fights are actually catching up to my party in levels; some of my characters' max levels are now below these challenge levels.
While Chen is alive, Ran will mostly toss buffs at Chen and otherwise attack you with multi-target spell cards, while Chen will just ram your party with attacks with her 10k SPD. If she gets an all buff from Ran her attacks can be quite deadly so it's imperative that you kill her fast; she actually has only 130 DTH resistance so Reisen and Yuyuko has a decent chance of killing her in one shot, which might be worth trying. After Chen is dead Ran will switch over to 9F mode, meaning that as long as you can destroy the shikigamis she throw out she will never actually attack you.
