Been a long time coming but I finally finished it; Kong's suite from GxK. It's been a mix of both business in my day to day as well as a lack of motivation to do it, but after a long time coming its done. Kong's theme is the same as it was in Godzilla vs Kong, with the rising seven note figure for Kong and the six note somber motif that represents both Kong and Jia. There isn't much to comment on, but I really appreciate more versatility used in the score for Kong's theme. Whether it be more tribal percussion, or a better usage of the synth elements, Kong's theme has a much more striking palette. But the biggest change that I appreciate is how much more heroic it sounds. In it's heights, it truly sounds like the theme for an unwavering hero, and given Kong's journey in the film it adds necessary thematic and emotional weight necessary for his character.
