Durin's theme is one of the few that stays relatively the same in season two, the only difference being a lack of the jovial ostinato that drove the more humorous moments with him and his family. His theme is still folkish in nature, yet carries a heavy heart and burden that Durin himself carries. His theme is mixed in with the marching rhythm of Khazad-dûm however, and as the two fit together like a puzzle piece in the last few episodes, it has me wondering if the two themes will merge more often than not with the coming reign Durin IV shall rule over in the future.
