Scrappy Kathy | Kit Refresh/Reveal || How to Kill A Kit....With Style || Scrap Backwards @scrappykathy | Uploaded February 2024 | Updated October 2024, 8 minutes ago.
This was an easier video than I thought it might be! There's SO much work to be done to get this kit "into shape" == removing Christmas supplies and storing them separately, consolidating and culling several containers of miscellaneous embellishments and incorporating new goodies I received from my friend Sharon. With a little pre-work (which helped to organize my thoughts) this wasn't so painful and it actually energized me to proceed with some of the more detailed work. Over the next several months I have a few medical hurdles to clear, a trip that will eventually take me to a retreat in Texas for classes with Vicki Boutin and Paige Evans and a reunion with my good friend Khristina, and a trip (who knows when?!) to visit my sister in Louisiana. Given all that I'm carefully mapping out my video schedule and working ahead as much as possible to be sure I keep up even when life throws me a curveball.
I am really happy with this kit : Paper-wise it contains muted neutrals, modern brights, strong geometrics, dainty florals and papers that I can fussycut to my heart's content. And I can go tropical and summer and beachy (critical for me to have in every kit....) as well as masculine "army" pages, silly dog pages, throwback kiddy and other family pages, travel pages and everyday life pages.
Once I've organized the embellishments I'll do another reveal and I'm hoping it'll show how versatile it all is and how it'll work together for most of the pages I will be making. I really intend to use the heck out of this kit and to kill it to the point that everything will go into other storage areas in my craft space or into a box of goodies I will donate to the nearby elementary school.
Thank you for watching and stay tuned for pages to come! February is LOAD month so I'll be doing at least a page a day in addition to my other series and DT pages, and March is Calvinball month -- a free-for-all, crazy, anything-goes kind of challenge where I can unleash my inner over-embellishing style to its fullest!
