Kevin Costner Was Once An Extra In A Michael Keaton Movie

Kevin Costner worked as an extra in a Michael Keaton film before Matt Damon and Ben Affleck did.

During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, Costner talked about how his 1989 baseball film masterpiece Field of Dreams used both longtime friends and movie stars as extras.

Naturally, the scenario took place in Boston's famed Fenway Park, which is located in Massachusetts, the home state of Damon and Affleck.

Costner said to Kimmel, "They were sitting in the stands, like college guys." Additionally, they would simultaneously lean in, lean back, and glance at one another.

In addition, Costner told Kimmel that he had met Affleck and Damon during movie breaks, recollecting, "We talked and they had this big enthusiasm." They were ablaze."

It's possible that Costner's past experience as an extra contributed to his interactions with extras on one of the sets where Field of Dreams was being filmed.

During an Ellen DeGeneres talk show interview in 2015, Costner talked about how he obtained his Screen Actors Guild card by working as an extra in the romantic comedy Night Shift from 1982.

Ron Howard is the director of Night Shift, starring Henry Winkler as Chuck Lumley, an overnight morgue worker who has to collaborate with Bill "Blaze" Blazejowski, the nephew of his employer (Keaton in his feature picture debut).

As a self-described "idea man," Blaze establishes a call girl business to run at the morgue during Chuck and his night shift.

at the movie's frat boy party sequence, Kevin Costner makes an appearance. Blaze, played by Michael Keaton, throws a party for the frat members as well as clients of his and Chuck's call-girl service at the morgue.

In the 2015 interview, Costner recalled the scene for Ellen DeGeneres. With a still image of the sequence projected behind him and DeGeneres, Costner said he believed he was either 26 or 27 years old at the time of filming.

The Night Shift still features Costner's character, identified as Frat Boy #1 in the movie, standing with a cup of beer between two of his fraternity brothers.

Costner said, "I screamed really loud at that moment."

In the scenario, Henry Winkler makes an appearance as Chuck, who becomes frightened upon seeing the frat guy party in the morgue.

Shelly Long plays Belinda Keaton in Night Shift, a call girl Chuck falls in love with.

In addition to starring, directing, and producing the four-part Western epic Horizon: An American Saga, Costner most recently starred in the popular television series Yellowstone.

On June 28, Horizon: Chapter 1 will be released in theaters. On September 6, Batman actor Keaton will make a reappearance as the "Ghost with the Most" in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice 2.
