Joe Venuti And His Blue Six play "In De Ruff" (actually, "Sugar Foot Stomp"). Solos by Joe Venuti, Benny Goodman, Joe Sullivan, Dick McDonough and Bud Freeman, with Adrian Rollini working his usual magic on the bass sax.
This was one of a series of jazz sessions that John Hammond arranged in the early 1930s, persuading Columbia to record the sides for release in Britain (most were subsequently released in America), where there was a small but burgeoning market for such jazz records, thanks mainly to the efforts of magazines like the Melody Maker.
