During a trip to New York in 1939, British trumpeter Nat Gonella took part in a recording session with members of John Kirby's Orchestra. This is one of the sides recorded - a very nice version of "Just A Kid Named Joe". Excellent solos by Billy Kyle, Benny Carter and Buster Bailey, with Nat's trumpet riding above the ensemble in the last half chorus.
