We appreciate all of our customers, but some projects stand out as especially memorable. Years ago, Joe Rogan pulled up the Unplugged Performance website with Elon Musk on his podcast, enthusiastically discussing the UP S-APEX Model S Plaid complete car program. Fast forward to 2024—Joe reached out to us to commission a custom car. Ben Schaffer of UP and Joe worked closely together to fine-tune every detail, crafting his bespoke ride. Upon completion, Joe invited Ben out for the delivery. This video captures Joe’s first impressions and a conversation between him and Ben about the car’s unique features, as well as their shared passion for high-performance vehicles.
Joe’s car features the same UP Forged wheels (UP-03 design) that many Tesla enthusiasts use daily and that we run on our race-winning Dark Helmet Pikes Peak Tesla Model S Plaid car. It also includes Dark Helmet’s UP carbon-ceramic big brake kit, a popular upgrade from the UP catalog. Inside, the car boasts a one-of-a-kind UP interior rework, incorporating a custom roll of von Holzhausen Banbu leather paired with black Alcantara. The exterior showcases the S-APEX-exclusive dry carbon widebody, finished in a custom-mixed white paint with blue pearl, and topped off with a satin paint protection film for everyday usability.
While many aspects of Joe’s car were extensively customized for him, we hope our UP clients, both present and future, enjoy knowing that Joe Rogan chose and daily drives the same high-performance UP Tesla tuning products that are readily available to enthusiasts worldwide on the UP website.
