I had some rattling noise in one of the rear doors which now reached a level of annoyance i could not tolerate anymore,... so we had a closer look.
Apparently it's just another one of these things which are done on the cheap, perhaps the reason why they call it "Jeep"
The door locking solenoid was simply riveted into the door, but aluminium rivets in a steel door holding parts which are exposed to stress and vibration must fail sooner or later.
So was it here, the rivets lost tension and the thing was rattling around more and more.
See how we fixed it and also made it a bit more durable.
The drivers door now starts rattling as well, so that's most likely the next candidate for the same fix.
