James Kalm pedals to Brooklyn Central Library’s, Dweck Center, and records a presentation and conversation celebrating the publication of Johns’ catalogue raisonné.

In part one, catalogue contributor Caitlin Sweeney discusses Johns’ career and the challenges of working with the artist in compiling the research.

Part two is a group discussion regarding Johns’ influences on contemporary artists, and the importance of documentation and archiving in helping a broader range of artists enter the historic canon. This conversation is moderated by Poet/critic John Yau and includes Franklin Furnace founder Martha Wilson, and painter and collagist William Villalongo.
