In this video, I take a look at Japanese Godfather II: Ambition (1977), released on Blu-ray by Radiance Films as part of The Japanese Godfather Trilogy Limited Edition box set (Spine 155).
Directed by Sadao Nakajima, this second entry in the trilogy shifts the focus from street-level yakuza violence to something far more insidious — the world of corporate power, political influence, and organised crime at the highest level.
Picking up from the first film, Ambition sees the Nakajima syndicate expanding its reach across Japan, forging connections with politicians and corporations while battling rival factions.
