This week we're back in the Caribbean foraging for dinner form the ocean! We're freedive spearfishing with a pole spear for reef fish. Grunts, snapper, jacks, and whatever else we find. Spear fishing with a pole spear is a lot like traditional bowhunting. You've got to get very close to the fish to get a shot. You've got to move slowly and be part of the environment. One of the coolest thing about freediving is all the other animals you see along the way. Sea turtles, eels, and eagle rays are just a few. When you start training in free diving, you've got to push your body way beyond what's comfortable. When you can put the screaming urge to breath out of mind, the mammalian dive reflex kicks in and your heart rate slows. The blood from your extremities rushes back to your core and feels like a warm blanket.
Don't forget to subscribe to the channel. We're uploading a new video each week that features one of the following topics: archery, bow hunting, bow building, survival skills, bushcraft, self reliance, primitive skills, primitive bows, hunting, camping, fishing, and a lot more!
